The Mission of Na Wokabaut
To assist in bringing basic physical, social, educational, economic and environmental health to impoverished people living in Papua New Guinea and other selected countries. |
Na Wokabaut is a is a federal 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization founded in Washington State, USA in 2007. Our story actually predates this, and even our connection with the coffee-growing communities we are primarily involved in, and goes back to various medical mission trips, particularly to Papua New Guinea that began as early as 1992.
We are a grass roots organization that depends greatly on volunteers, and donations of time, money, and supplies. Founded on the humanitarian principals of recognizing the specific needs facing local communities, we focus on providing previously unavailable services and helping people help themselves to improve difficult situations.
Na Wokabaut believes that every person has valuable skills, even if they are often unknown to him or her. We try to help people use or enhance those skills, which can then be used to generate income or be beneficial in some other way.
We advocate for children and women's rights. We build schools, we offer medical services, we provide needed medical supplies and equipment. We offer clean drinking water, books for schools, access to dental care, immunizations, and to hope. We plant trees and seed dreams. Please look through our web-pages to get a better sense of the scope of our efforts, and our dreams for the future.
Na Wokabaut has worked with hundreds of organizations and individuals throughout the world and throughout the years to make a difference. We are proud of the work we have done and would like to thank the many people and organizations that have helped us work towards a common goal.
